...cell phones...

This is new standup from a charity event I did. A friend of mine was raising money to sponsor her AIDS walk and asked if I'd be a part of it.

It was a pretty funny night with all kids of different comics.

...guns and girls...

So today at work I served Judy Greer (13 Going on 30, 27 Dresses, etc.) whose parents came into town from Ohio. She was super nice and I was very happy to get to serve this lady who I think is very very funny.

After I left work today I was driving home and instead of being able to turn left at an intersection that I normally do in a quiet neighboorhood, I was met with two undercover looking cops who had blocked the streets with unmarked cars and one had an M-16 standing guard. All this while I see a helicopter just circling the block and then a few patrol cars go right past me.

It was strange for sure.

Oh well, Happy Thanksgiving (again).

...non-thanksgiving thanksgiving...[ntt]

Recently a large-ish group of some of my best friends in LA got together for what we called Non-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving. That is to say, we celebrated the day of giving thanks last Saturday (22nd) and it was magnificent.

Hosted in the luxuriously 'normal' apartment of a few friends, 15 people came over wearing holiday clothes, toting an accessory. I don't mean a great clutch or the new iPhone 3G. I mean wine, apps, dessert, entree or side item.

On hand were the following deliciously scrumptious items:

Apps:
Cheese plate with 4 cheeses
Asparagus Affair (roastbeef-wrapped asparagus spears cut and tooth-picked for finger food)

Dinner:
Turkey (of course, slow roasted and very juicy)
Pureed carrots and beets
Sweet Potatoes stuffed/topped with a brown sugar, walnut, marshmallow topping (BAM)
Cranberries
Flaky biscuits
Sausage stuffing (so mouth watering)
Mixed Greens salad with blue/Gorgonzola cheese, Craisins, toasted almonds and lemmon pepper or citrus vinaigarette

Dessert:
Bannana Pudding
Apple Pie
Pecan Pie
Vanilla IceCream

After a great night of drinking, eating, dancing and singing (both way too loud for the other residents, ahem) we went for a walk around the neighboorhood and then came back and ended our night.

It was good times with great friends and I think a tradition in Non-Thanksgiving Thanksgiving excellence has begun that will out live even our youngest member.

I hope your regular Thanksgiving goes fantasticly.

Much love from the West Coast.
