"...you're not my type. You're single..."

After eating a meal prepared for 112 people (roughly 104 didn't show) my friends and I decided to catch a movie on this day of giving thanks. Nothing says thankfulness like peering into the crazy life of newly upgraded to "00" status, international man of mystery, Bond-James-Bond.

I have seen each of the other 20 James Bond movies (btw: having 21 movies makes Rocky look like a one-hit (pun intended) wonder) roughly one million times--some more and some less. I am going out there to say that I think this was my favorite of them all.

Unfortunately I haven't read a book since "If you give a mouse a cookie," much less any of Mr. Flemings grand novels that shaped the landscape of spy-thriller (Bourne Identity, Mission Impossible, Alias, etc.) but from reviews and the like it seems that Daniel Craig's bond is more book-true than the suave, sharp Bonds of the past.

I enjoyed this 'real' Bond so much more. Granted Casino Royale had it's share of cheese lines and "is that even possible for someone to do?" moments, I practically stood up and cheered at the end. I like this direction for Bond and feel much like Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale's new-old Batman is better than ever....so goes our favorite British agent.

Applause to Martin Cambell who rocked the room with this thriller. I loved it.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, though Bond (and Mr. Bourne) end up lonely and beat up in each of their movies....a talented, hired hitman (freelance or for Her Majesty) seems pretty awesome.
